Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel fasteners are used in environments where corrosion resistance, strength, and longevity are critical. Commonly found in industries such as marine, chemical processing, food and beverage, construction, and energy, these fasteners perform exceptionally well in both atmospheric and submerged conditions.

By utilising alloys containing elements such as Chromium, Nickel, Molybdenum, and sometimes Titanium or Copper, Stainless Steel fasteners form a self-healing passive oxide layer that protects against rust and chemical attack. This makes them ideal for applications exposed to moisture, saltwater, or corrosive agents, ensuring structural integrity, reliability, and aesthetic durability over long service periods.

ASTM A193 / A320 Stainless Steel Grades

B6

Made from Type 410 Stainless Steel (Martensitic); offers good strength and moderate corrosion resistance, typically used in mildly corrosive and high-temperature environments.

B8

Made from Type 304 Stainless Steel (Austenitic); provides excellent corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties for general-purpose applications.

B8C

Made from Type 347 Stainless Steel (Austenitic, Columbium-Stabilised); offers improved resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding or high-temperature exposure.

B8M

Made from Type 316 Stainless Steel (Austenitic, Molybdenum-Bearing); provides superior corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides and marine atmospheres.

B8T

Made from Type 321 Stainless Steel (Austenitic, Titanium-Stabilised); ideal for high-temperature service where resistance to scaling and sensitisation is required.

Class 1

Solution annealed condition.

Class 2

Strain hardened condition for higher tensile strength.
