Naval Defence grade fasteners are used in critical marine and Defence applications where reliability, strength, and long-term corrosion resistance are essential. These fasteners are specifically designed for use in harsh saltwater environments and are commonly found in naval vessels, submarines, offshore platforms, and coastal defence equipment.
Manufactured from materials such as Nickel Aluminium Bronze, Super Duplex Stainless Steel, and other corrosion-resistant alloys, they maintain structural integrity under extreme pressures and temperatures. Their resistance to seawater corrosion, stress cracking, and biofouling ensures dependable performance in mission-critical systems, making them vital for securing components in propulsion systems, weapon mounts, hull assemblies, and marine infrastructure.
British Defence Standards
Naval Defence Manufacturing Standards
SFC (Europe) manufactures in full accordance with the following defence standards:

DEF-STAN 02-862 Part 3 Issue 3 – First Level

DEF-STAN 02-862 Part 2 Issue 3 – Non-First Level
Material Groups Manufactured
Through our secure manufacturing facility, SFC (Europe) produces precision fasteners and components utilising the following material groups:

NA13 (Monel 400)
Nickel–Copper alloy offering excellent corrosion resistance and strength in marine environments.

NA18 (Monel K500)
Precipitation-hardened Nickel–Copper alloy combining corrosion resistance with greater tensile strength and hardness.

Super Duplex (S32760)
High-strength, corrosion-resistant alloy ideal for aggressive subsea and offshore applications.

Carbon Steels (SM1 | SM2 | SM3)
Available in both metric and imperial sizes; suitable for a wide range of structural and general-purpose defence applications.

Nickel Aluminium Bronze (DEF-STAN 02-833)
Exceptional resistance to seawater corrosion, ideal for marine and naval defence systems.
Traceability
With traceability of paramount importance, SFC (Europe) provides full 3.1 and 3.2 certification packs, along with any ancillary documentation such as dimensional inspection reports or coating conformity reports.
Whilst we are unable to disclose details of specific projects due to various Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreements, our team remains available to discuss our Naval Defence manufacturing capabilities in further detail upon request.
